Very Uncomfortable

When trying on these pants my nine year-old son immediately wanted to take them off because he said they were "scratchy and uncomfortable." Additionally I was disappointed because the "slim" size seemed very large. These pants went back.

This has been my go to dress pant for my sons. I have bought both of my sons these pants in navy and khaki and they have held up really well. I like the fact they are extra lined in the knee too!

Classic, Versatile & Solid Construction

I bought these pants for my almost 5 year old son who is on the slim side. He's 42 inches tall with an almost 20 inch waist and weighs about 37 pounds. I purchased the slim fit for him and they definitely have extra length for him to grow into this in September 2013 when he goes into kindergarten. These pants have a classic look that can be worn with a casual or dressy shirt. They're well made with the adjustable elastic waist band. They look like they will hold up to the wear and tear his pants endure especially in the knee area.

Great for Boy Tough on Knees

These are such a great fit--they look terrific on my son. They don't look like there is a reinforced knee area so he can wear these on nice occasions (not totally dress-up, though). The cadet blue is my son's favorite, though I like the navy more. Unfortunately, it's the navy that first suffered the knee breakthrough--a small horizontal tear.
Grass stains on the navy barely show.
Because the color of the reinforcement is the same as the pant itself, I can barely tell that there is a tear. Where last year I was so desperate for pants, I let my son go to school if only one knee was torn, now that this navy pair has a torn knee, I still have a layer to go on the left knee--and two on the right knee. This makes the pants last at least twice as long!
I had a feeling the pant waist would run a little small based on other Lands End fits so my then 8 2/3-year-old had to have my mom hem the size 10. (I can barely sew a button.) Now that my son has grown in the last 7 months (now 9 1/4 years old), the pants can be let down a bit, but they are still quite long. The waist is still perfect.
So not 5 stars because ideally I could get a size 9 or 10 that wouldn't be so long that they'd need to be hemmed. And also because there is, after all, a tear--albeit in a normal pair of pants, they'd be shorts by now.
I am on the site now to order some more!
