Boys' Alpine Trekker Boots
Made for trail or town, these hikers are the real deal. Deep lugs give them great traction for off-road trekking, and a mix of suede and nylon construction gives them durability while keeping feet cooler. Spot clean. Imported.

Love them but...
DateMarch 15, 2014
Purchased for my 9 yr old. He loves them but the black part of the sole is peeling off. He has only had them for two months! He won't let me take them back but now it is at the point were I am attempting to glue the sole to the shoe....need to go back. Very disappointed. I gave them a 2 because my son loves them so much. I am hoping we just got a dud pair.

This boot rocks! Light weight, durable and nice looking. Our 8 year old little man wears these all day long climbing and hiking . They still look brand new . In addition his feet do not over heat. Thank you Lands End for making yet another quality shoe

Great quality at the clearance price

These shoes are so stylish and trendy for my 5 year old. I love the colors and my son runs around in these with ease. So good that I bought another pair for next fall/winter. I don't know if these are good as boots for hiking or running in the snow because the bottoms look more like sneakers and wouldn't have enough traction for icy clumps of earth.

These are lightweight & perfect for walking in wintry weather

I bought two pair of these last winter season for both my sons, one pair in size 7 for my 13 year-old and the other in a 6 size for my 10 year-old. Last year, they were quite roomy in those sizes and I probably should have exchanged them for smaller sizes, but I did not, hoping they would grow into them a little more this winter. I just tried on the size 7 and they are big enough for me, and I wear a size 71/2 women's shoe. I personally like the look of these retro-style sneakers, and the fact that they have a sort of sherpa lining makes them warm enough for winter weather. I wanted shoes that my boys could walk/run to school in and which would keep their feet warm, but not be as heavy & stiff as snow boots. These are lightweight and they have good traction. I would NOT recommend these for trudging through deep snow, as the snow will probably soak through after a while. I also would not consider them boots; they're more like high-top sneakers, covering just the ankles.

My five year old loves these shoes. They are comfortable and work well for jumping and playing. They have held up well under everyday use and are a good value for the price. They may look heavy, but they are actually quite lightweight.

Great winter shoes without being a bulky boot
DateJanuary 18, 2013
My 8 year old son has only worn these shoes everyday since the day they arrived. He is VERY particular about the fit and feel of shoes ( to the point that we only bought Keen and Tevas for the last 3 years- steep prices for both even on sale) and he loves these boots. I ordered them mostly based on the fact that he will not wear winter or rain boots to school and needed the extra warmth on the playground for the winter. They run a bit wide but we just tighten the laces and his feet are a touch narrow anyway. The brilliant thing about these shoes is the functionality of having a warm fuzzy lining and the sole having the flexibility and traction of a sneaker. So, they are both warm ( water resistant but not waterproof which is still a major bonus), comfortable, and flexible. They give some benefits of an ankle height ( high top) level boot without the stiffness and bulk of a mid calf rain or Bogs- type of boot. I also loved the retro seventies color and design of these. It's also a nice change from the usual grays and blacks of many winter boots and he doesn't look so dark from head to toe. I can't stand the busy, neon, over decorated tennis shoes of today- so repulsive!! I am ordering a size up for next year incase they don't bring them back. Please, LE, make these a staple in your catalog. Also, for the price it feels like a steal ( even for kids shoes)!
